The Greycliffe String Quartet is a professional, classically trained, experienced, and flexible ensemble. We can provide you with music for any special occasion; everything from weddings and receptions to holiday and backyard parties. Our repertoire includes classical, jazz, rock n roll, show tunes, and just about everything in between. Check out our Repertoire page.
If you’re looking for something different for your wedding, the Greycliffe Quartet is a unique choice for your special day. We can provide pre-service music, music during the ceremony, music during the cocktail hour or during dinner.
The Greycliffe String Quartet was formed in August of 2006, as part of the Chamber Music Program at the University at Buffalo. During its time in the program until 2010, the quartet performed on many chamber recitals and on-campus events, including the Remembrance Service for victims of flight 3407 in February of 2009. It has collaborated on live performances with Zodiac, a dance group associated with the Center for the Arts at UB. Greycliffe has performed in several master classes with internationally renowned professional string quartets including the Colorado, Ives, Mendelssohn, NEO, Alexander, Pacifica, and Tokyo String Quartets.
Greycliffe prides itself on its ability to perform genres of music other than classical. It has performed modern works including a composition by Jonathan Thomas Miller, a composer in Los Angeles, who has composed many film scores and music for television programs on the Discovery Channel. Greycliffe also enjoys performing popular and jazz favorites as part of its repertoire.
Since ending its career at UB, Greycliffe and its members have performed at music festivals, string workshops, taught lessons, and have done some recording. Greycliffe has also performed for many weddings, receptions, private parties, and other special occasions in and around Western New York.
